Bambaroo State School 90th anniversary

I attended the afternoon tea celebrating the 90th anniversary of the opening of Bambaroo State School, in my electorate of Hinchinbrook.

Bambaroo is a small rural school between Ingham and Rollingstone, but there was a great crow on hand to mark the schools 90th birthday, including a former student who was there on the first day.

It was very special to have Mr Charlie Hecht (pictured below), now 95 years old, at the school for the celebrations, who was at Bambaroo when it opened in 1924.

As a local MP, I have always enjoyed visiting Bambaroo State School and being part of their small but very proud community. Congratulations to the school on organising this important event.
